Where have you gone?

It is not often that I post here anymore. Most of my political writing has goine on Louisiana Conservative lately. I did not, however want to abandon this audience, regardless of how small it has likely gotten.

I am putting aside politics for a time. I started this blog, because I felt strongly that God had called me to get involved in politics and to write about it. I did so. Now, I feel that he did this to sharpen my writing skils because he had a long term plan in mind. I have started another blog, entitled "As one unclean" . I believe that God wants me, now, to share my observations and beliefs on the Christian life, and what his scripture has for  us. I hope you continue to read, and that you will consider what is written at my new site. Do not read it because the words are mine. Read it with open hearts and minds for the glory of God. That is why it is written. For his glory, not mine.

Occupy Reality

Occupy Wall Street. It has become a part of our news cycle for two months now. A group of self styled revolutionaries calling themselves the 99% that have chosen September and October to begin a demonstration against “the 1%”. The ones they rail against are the wealthy. They call for greed and corruption to be scoured out of our American political system. Taken on the surface, I can’t say that is a bad thing. That said, one of the most dangerous things a person can do is simply look at the surface. A deeper look at Occupy Wall Street shows a more chilling truth. It is capitalism itself that they see as the enemy, not covertly, but openly stating this in their publications. They do not hide this fact. Armed with this knowledge, let me show you the words of the founders of the “movement.”

Allow me to offer up this quote from www.occupywallstreet.org. The very website from which they organized this national sensation.
Money, it has been said, has taken over politics. In truth, we say, money has always been part of the capitalist political system. A system based on the existence of have and have nots, where inequality is inherent to the system, will inevitably lead to a situation where the haves find a way to rule, whether by the sword or by the dollar.
I have taken the liberty of underlining a few key sections of that paragraph. This was posted on the morning that they first began their occupation of Zuccotti Park. I would like to take a moment to ask you if this type of rhetoric sounds familiar. Does it? These types of statements are the fuel that feeds the flame of class warfare, but that should surprise no one, as Marx (Karl, not Groucho) himself stated in the famous Monty Python skit "World Forum" A struggle of class versus class is the very definition of a political struggle.

These occupiers would absolutely love that reminder, because everything that they have done has been modeled after his (Karl's) ideals. Even the timing is an homage to the October Revolution of 1917, which, in today's parlance would now be referred to as "Occupy Red Square."

The Bolshevik Revolution began in September and October of 1917, but is mostly recognized as beginning in early November of that year. They began with noble sounding dreams, calling for power to the workers, which we see in the OWS call. They spoke passionately of the "Struggle of the urban prolitariat", or working class. Officially the people other than children with no wealth. These Occupiers use the same language. In truth, from what I have seen from these folks in Zuccotti Park, I see very little difference between them and the occupiers of Petrograd in the early 1900's.

Now, I understand that, simply by having a knowledge of history, and by clearly articulating my honest opinion; by calling these people on their actual intentions, I have obviously outed myself as uneducated, illiterate and possibly even ignorant. Oh, and sense I'm opposing left wing activists, I'm "clearly a racist, a sexist, a bigot and an intolerant cretin" even though they are a multicultural group and I have no idea of their demographics. Yes, of course I am, I'm a white anglo-saxon protestant male aren't I? I might just be distantly related to Hitler. Go ahead, get it out of your system now, I really don't care, because you're really about to be offended. I'm about to be brutally honest.

More quotes forthcoming:

And so we call on people to act
  1. We call for protests to remain active in the cities. Those already there, to grow, to organize, to raise consciousnesses, for those cities where there are no protests, for protests to organize and disrupt the system.
What you are doing is calling for a new Bolshevik uprising. As Satayana said, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it". You are espousing the values of Marx and using the tactics of Trotsky. Let's be honest, you are the modern day Communist party. You want an economic system that has failed everywhere it has been tried. You are calling for the destruction of capitalism in the name of freedom, and in place of it, you would put in a system where the government controls everything, and you call people with opinions like mine ignorant? I call people with opinions like this stupid, delusional, and dishonest. Dishonest, because you are not stupid. You are a very intelligent, well spoken group. Therefore, you don't want freedom. You want government control, oppression, and the suppression of all dissenting opinions, which is why I took the liberty of labeling myself for you. I DON'T WANT YOU TO HAVE THE SATISFACTION!

"We call for workers to not only strike, but seize their workplaces collectively, and to organize      them democratically. We call for students and teachers to act together, to teach democracy, not merely the teachers to the students, but the students to the teachers. To seize the classrooms and free minds together".
You are calling for the hostile takeover of businesses and educational systems. This is not simply a call for action, it's an act of terrorism that you have yet to perpetrate, but regardless they are not the peaceful demonstrations in which you claim to be taking part. You are gearing up for war.
"We call for the unemployed to volunteer, to learn, to teach, to use what skills they have to support themselves as part of the revolting people as a community."
Well, that makes sense. They have plenty of time on their hands. That said, the unemployed are the only people you could get to fill a protest that lasts a period of months. OTHER PEOPLE HAVE TO GO TO WORK!!! This leads me to the conclusion that on top of being a mixture of the dishonest and the stupid, Occupy Wall Street is completely populated by the lazy and shiftless leeches on this economy that make a career out of being unemployed. Now, I'm not talking about the folks that honestly need a hand while they are looking for another job. No, I don't have a problem with them. Please, continue to look for work, but that is what the unemployment system is for. For the honest people that want work, and need something to help them get by until relief comes. I've known several people like that. Been related to a few. Been one myself. No, I mean the people who have no intention of finding work until their unemployment just flat runs out, and then appeal as often as they can to keep the faucet running. Meanwhile, who is paying their salary? I am.! You are! The honest hardworking people of America that get up every morning, go to work when they don't want too, when they are hurting physically, mentally, spiritually. The people that go to work sick because they can't afford to take the time off. The people that can barely make ends meet because they make too much money for the Government to help them and their hungry family.
Who reaps the benefits? The lazy, the shiftless, and the scheming people who work the system and know exactly how much blood they can squeeze from the turnip before they have to take another job for just long enough to build up enough unemployment income to stop showing up for work again. You want economic fairness? Get off your lazy butts, get out of Zuccotti Park and OCCUPY A WORKPLACE for a change!!! What is fair about the government paying you for gathering in a park while the Americans that you are trying to punnish go to work every day? That's right! You are KILLING the workers that you so valiantly want to protect. If you crash Wall Street what happens to the man that has worked for forty years to feed his family, and has invested a portion of his savings in mutual funds so he can have enough to retire on one day? What happens to my Mother? The widow that is living on the retirement that her husband squirreled away so that she could eat after he was gone? Tell me that? What happens to the woman that worked hard every day to help her husband make ends meet, and now needs her 401k to retire on? I'll tell you what happens to them, back to work everyone! Oh, wait, there are no businesses, they've been taken over because they were corrupt. Go stand in line for your government rations.

Let me be totally clear. Occupy Wall Street is a poison that is coursing its way through America's veins, trying to kill the country that I know an love. The country that our veterans fought and bled and died to protect. They are not trying to right the wrongs in this country. They are trying to destroy it from the inside in a move to create a Communist regime out of this Republic that we know and love. I cannot say strongly enough how angry I am that they are finding support in the news media and in Hollywood. They are a fraud and a brood of vipers, and we cannot afford for them to whine. Win. I meant win.

Common Sense Finances

Okay, maybe sense isn't quite as common as it used to be. Still, "common" sense seems to be a foreign concept in our nations finances. Let us look at just a few concepts that you and I use in our every day lives that our government just can't seem to get a handle on.

1)When the money flowing out is greater than the money coming in, that's bad - Okay, I think this is a pretty basic idea. When your expenditures exceed your income, you have what is called a "Cash Flow Problem." In layman's terms, you are living beyond your means. In the real world, when this happens, the bank account becomes overdrawn. Your checks bounce. Spending must stop. If spending does not stop, then eventually a law enforcement agency shows up at your door. In government, when this happens, you engage in "deficit spending". "Deficit Spending" is code for "spending money that we don't have". In the business world, this will get you fired. In your personal life it leads to bankruptcy and possibly prison. In government it leads to re-election.

2)Carefully consider the consequences of buying on credit - In the real world, this means, simply, if you intend to make a purchase, consider how much debt you have already. If you cannot afford to take on another payment, do not purchase this item. Failing to meet that payment will result in your defaulting on the loan. If this happens, there will be collections, and the potential for foreclosure, repossession, wage garnishment and other un-pleasantries. In government, well, obviously if you have more debt than you can pay, then you just raise the debt ceiling, extend borrowing powers for an additional two years and engage in deficit spending to make up the difference. Net result? It is estimated that by the end of this year, our ration of Gross Public Debt to Gross Domestic Product will be 1:1. In other words we will owe every dollar that we make this year as a nation.

3) Borrowing money to deal with a financial crisis merely compounds the problem - Perhaps a visual aide is appropriate here:

A very wise man named Dave Ramsey has given advice to millions of Americans on how to get out of financial trouble without resorting to bankruptcy. His advice is often hard to take if you are in a bad situation, because he is honest. He tells you like it is. Sometimes his solution is sell your expensive car, but a $3000 clunker, eat beans and pay bills but the bottom line is, his way works. He encourages people to prepare a budget. At the beginning of the month, sit down and spend every penny of those paychecks "on paper, on purpose". Our government could benefit from this advice. Congress, you spend hours debating a budget every year. Stick to it! Spend every penny on paper, on purpose and when it's gone, it's gone. Stop spending when the money runs out. Slash spending to the point that it is below our GDP. Pay down the national public debt, and you won't have to worry about raising the debt ceiling. It's time for you to stop making Americans pay for your shopping spree. It's about time that America says, Congress, I'm sorry, but you're cut off.

My how things change

What happened to the Democratic party in this country? What was it that prompted the change from the party of John Fitzgerald Kennedy to the party of Barrack Husein Obama? You say there has been no change? I beg to differ. Observe. These words were once spoken by John F Kennedy himself:

"We observe today not a victory of party, but a celebration of freedom symbolizing
an end, as well as a beginning signifying renewal, as well as change. For I have sworn before you and Almighty God the same solemn oath our forebears prescribed nearly a century and three quarters ago.

The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God.

We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution. Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage, and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty."

Consider, for a moment, do you believe that our President would stand before the world audience and claim that "the rights of man come no from the generosity of the state"? We can stop the statement right there and say no. This President is in favor of, and in fact committed to a point of view that believes that government should provide all of the needs of the people. Do you think, that he would claim that such liberties come "from the hand of God"?

Do you suppose that former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi would call us "Tempered by war"? Do you rather suppose she would claim us to be rendered delicate by it? Would Michelle Obama say that we are proud of our ancient heritage? Or, would she say that until very recently she was not "Proud of her country"? Would Harry Reed, Barney Frank, John Kerry or John Edward say that we were "unwilling to witness the slow undoing of those rights" in Afghanistan, or Iraq, or China, or North Korea? Would they say that they are committed to those rights "today, at home" or would they shout for limitations on the second amendment, or push the unfairness doctrine?
Would they claim to be committed to those rights around the world? Or would they simply fight any effort to defend liberty where ever it was threatened?

Let me make myself clear. While Kennedy's policies were not the most conservative, next to today's Democrats, he looks like Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan or even Ron Paul. When President Kennedy was inaugurated, this nation was still committed to fighting communism. Now, the president hires cabinet members that publicly state that Mao Tse Tung is someone they admire. He brings in advisers that have read aloud quotes from his "little red book" while making a speach on behalf of this government.

Call me foolish, but the man that stands before me and runs down our country, slanders our troops, and tries to read to me from a book that says that our way of life is inferior and that my God is non-existent should not be surprised when I oppose them at every turn. The freedoms enjoyed by the people of this nation are worth fighting for, and will be defended by those that still have the courage to do so.

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty." Thank you, President Kennedy.

The Americans with No Abilities Act.

This was first printed on Moonbattery.com see the original here.

Here's a surprise: Snopes.com says the Americans With No Abilities Act isn't on the level:
WASHINGTON , DC — Congress is considering sweeping legislation which will provide new benefits for many Americans. The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA) is being hailed as a major legislative goal by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or ambition.

"Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society," said California Senator Barbara Boxer. "We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability to be ridiculed and passed over. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers, simply because they have some idea of what they are doing."

In a Capitol Hill press conference, House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pointed to the success of the U.S. Postal Service, which has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity without regard to performance. Approximately 74 percent of postal employees lack any job skills, making this agency the single largest U.S. employer of Persons of Inability. … At the state government level, the Department of Motor Vehicles also has a great record of hiring Persons of Inability (63%).

Under the Americans With No Abilities Act, more than 25 million "middle man" positions will be created, with important-sounding titles but little real responsibility, thus providing an illusory sense of purpose and performance.

Mandatory non-performance-based raises and promotions will be given, to guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable employees. The legislation provides substantial tax breaks to corporations that promote a significant number of Persons of Inability into middle-management positions, and gives a tax credit to small and medium-sized businesses that agree to hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires.

Finally, the AWNA Act contains tough new measures to make it more difficult to discriminate against the Non-abled — banning, for example, discriminatory interview questions such as "Do you have any skills or experience which relate to this job?"

"As a Non-abled person, I can't be expected to keep up with people who have something going for them," said Mary Lou Gertz, who lost her position as a lug-nut twister at the GM plant in Flint , Michigan , due to her lack of any discernible job skills. "This new law should really help people like me." With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions of other untalented citizens will finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Said Senator Ted Kennedy: "As a Senator With No Abilities, I believe the same privileges that elected officials enjoy ought to be extended to every American with no abilities. It is our duty as lawmakers to provide each and every American citizen, regardless of his or her adequacy, with some sort of space to take up in this great nation."

How crestfallen persons of inability must be to learn this invitation to Hope was a hoax. But it looks like the AWNA Act won't be needed anyway. After the government has finished nationalizing the banking and automotive industries, and then moves on to healthcare, there will be vast sectors of the economy run like the post office, the DMV, and public schools, where ability is irrelevant.
